In Finland, ‘long drink’ (in Finnish lonkero) refers to a mixed drink made from gin and, most commonly, grapefruit soda. The Long Drink Company’s core product is The Finnish Long Drink, a 5.5% ABV expression described as a “refreshing, citrus soda with a premium liquor kick”.

Kygo, real name Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, and Fowler were introduced to The Long Drink by actor Miles Teller, who became a co-owner of The Long Drink Company in August last year.

“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Kygo and Rickie,” said Teller. “Both these guys are at the top of their game and they are a perfect fit for Long Drink. I look forward to collaborating with them and being on the front lines as we continue to expand the awareness and growth of Long Drink across the country.”

Kygo first tasted the drink at Teller’s wedding last year, while Fowler sampled the drink after Kygo sent him several cases. The duo then signed a deal to take a minority investment in the company.

“I first heard of Long Drink when I was djing my good friend Miles Teller’s wedding in Hawaii last year,” said Kygo. “We all had them and I loved the taste. The company’s vibe really matched our brand and what we’ve been building so we couldn’t be more excited to be involved.”

Kygo and Fowler will be actively involved in marketing the brand, alongside Teller. The marketing efforts will be supported by Palm Tree Crew, a firm co-founded by Kygo that invests in companies in consumer, entertainment and technology.

Fowler said: “I’m really excited to join The Long Drink team as an investor. When Kyrre (Kygo) and Myles Shear sent me a couple cases to try, I knew I wanted to get involved. Long Drink really stood out to me from the rest of the canned cocktails and seltzers that I have tried. It tastes amazing and is perfect after a day on the course.”

Since making its debut in 2018, The Long Drink has expanded its presence to US states such as Massachusetts, Connecticut, Georgia, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and will soon launch in California, Florida and Arizona.

Over the last 12 months, the brand has witnessed huge growth with sales increasing by 750%.

Last year, The Long Drink introduced low-calorie variant Long Drink Zero, followed by additional expressions including Long Drink Strong, a higher ABV option, and Long Drink Cranberry.
