Garrison Bros raises $396,000 to support Covid-19 recovery

Texas-based producer Garrison Brothers has raised US$396,181 through its Operation Crush Covid-19 fundraiser, which included the sale of limited edition Laguna Madre Bourbon.

Laguna Madre was aged in new white American oak barrels and Limousin oak casks

The funding drive was launched in April and saw the brand partner with bartender and veteran-led disaster response organisations, including Team Rubicon and Southern Smoke Foundation.

Launched in partnership with the Good Bourbon for a Good Cause scheme, the fundraiser saw Garrison Brothers gift bottles of its limited edition Laguna Madre Bourbon to individuals that donated US$1,000 or more.

Dan Garrison, founder and proprietor of Garrison Brothers Distillery, said: “The mission of Good Bourbon for a Good Cause is to change the world through the power of good Bourbon. The highly-anticipated Laguna Madre release provided us the best tool to raise the maximum amount of money, and I’m inspired by the coalescence of our community during these uncertain times.”

Laguna Madre is an eight-year-old Bourbon named after the waters along Texas’ Gulf Coast. The ultra-premium whiskey was aged in new white American oak barrels for four years and a further four years in Limousin oak casks from France.

The whiskey has flavours of “vanilla, sweet candy, cacao and thick, white chocolate”.

The remaining bottles of Laguna Madre are available to purchase at the Garrison Brothers Distillery’s gift shop in Hye, Texas.
