John Crabbie & Co unveils 25-year-old single malt

Halewood Wines & Spirits has released just 247 bottles of Crabbie 1994 Island Single Malt whisky in the UK.

The Crabbie 1994 single malt was released ahead of World Whisky Day

Distilled at the Tobermory Distillery on Scotland’s Isle of Mull, the new whisky was aged for 25 years in an ex-Sherry hogshead.

With an ABV of 46.2%, the whisky is non-chill-filtered and contains no artificial colouring.

It is described as having rich notes of fruitcake, dark chocolate and warming spices, and comes in a black box.

John Kennedy, head of sales for Scotland, John Crabbie & Co, said: “We’d had cask samples from distilleries all across Scotland and it was a difficult choice, but this Sherry cask from Tobermory was [an] absolute stand out with its nose of sweet macerated dates, fruit cake, warming spice and its orange marmalade and rich dark chocolate finish. It will most certainly appeal to those who take their whisky seriously.”

The expression was released ahead of World Whisky Day on 16 May. It carries an RRP of £300 (US$368).

In February this year, Halewood Wines & Spirits appointed Winebow to distribute its Crabbie’s Yardhead Scotch whisky and Peaky Blinder Irish Whiskey in the US.
