ACSA names Becky Harris board president

The American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA) has appointed Becky Harris, co-founder and chief distiller of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company, president of its board of directors.

Becky Harris has been appointed president of the ACSA board of directors

Harris has served as a member of the ACSA’s board of directors since May 2020, where she has been charged with appointing leadership to its governing committees.

Recently, Harris was also appointed head of the ACSA Covid-19 task force, helping to build and implement sanitiser best practices across the distilling industry.

Harris said: “The craft distilling industry has never faced such challenging times. It’s an incredible honour to be chosen as president by my fellow board members, a group of incredible leaders within our craft distilling community.

“I’m excited to build on ACSA’s technical and legislative leadership to help our community of more than 2,000 craft distilleries in any and every way possible to recover and thrive.”

Harris graduated from the University of Wisconsin. She then worked as a chemical engineer before opening Catoctin Creek with her husband, Scott Harris, in 2009.

In 2017, Constellation Brands acquired a minority stake in Catoctin Creek Distilling Company. The US-based distiller has since launched a limited edition whiskey created in collaboration with Adroit Theory Brewing Company.
