Sotheby’s Hong Kong hosts its biggest online spirits sale
Auctioneer Sotheby’s Hong Kong has opened its largest online spirits sale, which comprises more than 130 lots.
Karuizawa Aqua of Life 50 Years 1968 features in the auction
The Distilled, Whisky and Moutai and More sale is made up of highly sought-after Scotch and Japanese whiskies, as well as Chinese spirit Kweichow Moutai.
Bidding started on 21 April and will run until 5 May.
Leading the online auction is a bottle of Karuizawa Aqua of Life 50 Years 1968, which is one of only 248 bottles that were launched in 2018. It is expected to sell for between HK$280,000-HK$400,000 (US$36,126-US$51,609).
Another whisky on offer is a bottle of Mortlach 75-Year-Old Gordon & MacPhail Generations. It is forecast to fetch between HK$130,000-HK$180,000 (US$16,773-US$23,224).
A selection of Kweichow Moutai from the 1980s and 1990s is also on sale, including a bottle of the rare Flying Fairy Precious Moutai 1992. This lot has an estimated sale of between HK$55,000-HK$80,000 (US$7,096-US$10,322).
