Matthew Clark creates Local delivery app

UK wholesaler Matthew Clark has launched an app to help bars, restaurants and drinks merchants offer delivery and click-and-collect services during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Local app connects on- and off-trade retailers with customers

The Local app from Matthew Clark allows UK on- and off-trade drinks vendors to take orders from customers for either delivery or click-and-collect with no set-up costs or up-front charges.

To get started on the app, businesses need to supply a logo, menu, contact details and Stripe Connect account. Once registered, companies will then be able to accept orders from consumers in their area.

Customers can place orders online, through their mobiles or over the phone, and can find their local delivery area simply by entering their postcode or visiting the location’s page.

The cost of developing the app and any fees for each new business that joins the service have been covered by Matthew Clark, bar a 2% transaction fee on each order placed.

Local can be downloaded from both the Google Play and Apple App stores. For more information about the app visit matthewclark.co.uk/local.

In the wake of the social-distancing guidelines implemented as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, a host of bars around the world have turned to at-home deliveries to stay afloat.
