JJ Whitley unveils Watermelon and Lime Vodka
Halewood Wines & Spirits has extended its JJ Whitley spirits range with the launch of a watermelon and lime-flavoured vodka.
JJ Whitley Watermelon & Lime Vodka is bottled at 38% ABV
The “light and refreshing” JJ Whitley Watermelon and Lime Vodka has been launched to meet “spring and summer demand for fresh and zesty flavours”.
The new variant is said to offer a “tropical burst of watermelon, lime oil and vanilla on the nose, with a sweeter yet subtle spiced finish on the palate”.
James Stocker, marketing director at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “Zesty and citrus flavours are set to be big trends this year and very much the taste of spring and summer.
“People want lighter and fresh flavours, but also want a drink with an edge – a slight sharpness that hits the palate. The subtle bitterness of the lime does exactly this and is a complete contrast to the vibrant watermelon. It creates a depth of flavour that people can savour and enjoy.
“The Watermelon & Lime Vodka brings a tropical twist to the JJ Whitley range of vodkas and gins, and meets consumer demand for discovering quality, exciting flavours at outstanding value.”
Bottled at 38% ABV, the new flavoured vodka is recommended served with lemonade or tonic water and garnished with lime. It can also be mixed with dry white wine, lemonade, lime juice and fresh fruits such as peaches, apples and raspberries to create a Wonder Punch.
JJ Whitley Watermelon and Lime Vodka is priced at £14 (US$17.50) per 700ml bottle or £19 (US$23.70) per one-litre bottle. It is available to buy from UK supermarket Sainsbury’s.
In June last year, JJ Whitley updated its bottle design and expanded its flavoured portfolio with the release of a blood orange iteration.
