Online forum encourages on-trade collaboration and support

Mobile order and pay platform Wi5 has created Gather, an online forum that allows on-trade leaders to collaborate and share support during the coronavirus crisis.

Online platform Gather will connect hospitality executives

Gather is targeted at owners and senior executives at restaurants, cafés, pubs, bars and nightclubs that are feeling the strain during the covid-19 pandemic. The forum is a space for on-trade executives to share advice, resources and ideas to help businesses survive the crisis.

Gavin Peters, chief marketing and strategy officer at Wi5, said: “Having worked closely with our clients and friends in the industry since the coronavirus crisis took hold, it has been clear that there is a real sense of togetherness in the hospitality community, but there’s been a need for a simple communication channel for operators to collaborate and help each other through these challenging times.

“This forum is all about creating a positive environment to help operators get proactive and creative, and, along with partners such as Hospo Live, help the industry come back stronger than ever.”

Created by Wi5 and supported by on-trade collective Think Hospitality, Gather will collaborate with live-streaming service Hospo Live to connect and share skills and advice between industry workers.

Gather is open to all topics of discussion, and has so far covered subjects including content and communications strategies, supply chain management and remote staff training.

As a result of the on-going coronavirus pandemic, bars around the world have been forced to close their doors. In the wake of these social-distancing guidelines, a host of venues have turned to at-home deliveries to stay afloat.
