The contribution will support the GRC as it helps the country’s health and emergency services fight coronavirus.

The funds will help provide mobile medical units, fever monitoring stations, care for the elderly and mental health support, as well as supplying food and other essentials to the most vulnerable.

The GRC has around 175,000 full-time employees and more than 435,000 volunteers across Germany. As such, the organisation is able to respond adequately and provide much needed assistance during the pandemic, Beam Suntory said.

Nicole Ehlen, managing director, Germany, at Beam Suntory, said: “We are pleased to assist the GRC with this donation. Beam Suntory Germany’s top priority throughout this pandemic is supporting the health and well-being of our people and our communities – guided by our company’s vision of ‘Growing for Good’.

“We applaud the GRC for providing such comprehensive and important aid everywhere in the country, and we would like to thank all those who are actively helping to overcome this crisis.”

In a bid to tackle the pandemic, Beam Suntory has also given generous sums of money to the National Restaurant Association of India and the Community of Madrid.
