Captain Morgan debuts Orange Vanilla Twist
Diageo-owned spiced rum brand Captain Morgan has released a limited edition orange and vanilla-flavoured variant in the US.
Captain Morgan Orange Vanilla Twist can be mixed with coke or ginger aleReleased ahead of the summer, Captain Morgan Orange Vanilla Twist is described as tasting like “nostalgic orange and vanilla swirl”.
The expression is targeted at summertime gatherings and is bottled at 30% ABV.
It is recommended served with Coke, ginger ale or blended with ice and orange juice to make a slushie.
Captain Morgan Orange Vanilla Twist is available throughout March until Labour Day on 1 May while supplies last. It is priced at RRP US$14.99 per 750ml.
Earlier this month, Captain Morgan released a tiki-inspired spirit drink, bottled at 25% ABV.
In Diageo’s year ending 30 June 2019, the only category to decline was rum, which dropped 2% due to Captain Morgan’s decline in the US. Organic net sales of the rum brand fell by 2%.
Last July, Diageo CEO Ivan Menezes said the firm had plans for Captain Morgan’s marketing and expected its trajectory to get better.
