Macallan launches Chinese New Year gift pack
Edrington-owned The Macallan has created a limited edition gift set for its Double Cask 12 Years Old Scotch whisky to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old has been given a special pack to celebrate Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year – also known as the Lunar New Year – will begin on 25 January, marking the Year of the Rat.
The Macallan Lunar New Year gift box contains two bottles of The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, which has an ABV of 43%. This is the third gift pack from Macallan to mark the Lunar New Year.
The gift box and label feature traditional knots with an illustration of the rat zodiac symbol.
The middle of the knot has red and gold accents, which are said to be traditional colours in the Chinese New Year celebrations.
The gift pack will be available from select retailers across the US at an RRP of US$140.
In December last year, The Macallan revealed the fifth and final release in its travel retail-exclusive Golden Age of Travel range – a 35-year-old single malt priced at US$50,000.
