Oxford Artisan Distillery names Dave Smith new chairman
The Oxford Artisan Distillery (TOAD) has appointed Dave Smith as its new chairman, taking over from Neil Brown.
Dave Smith has been appointed full-time chairman of The Oxford Artisan Distillery
In his new role at the UK-based vodka, gin and rye spirit producer, Smith will initially focus on shareholder engagement, fundraising and driving the company forward.
Smith said: “I am delighted to be joining The Oxford Artisan Distillery and its great team at this exciting time, and looking forward to launching our English rye whisky range in late 2020.”
Brown has stepped down from the position but will remain on the distillery’s board.
TOAD managing director and co-founder, Tagore Ramoutar, said: “We are very grateful for Neil Browns’ leadership and continuous commitment, and we warmly welcome Dave onboard. He is in a fantastic position to leverage his skillset and experience to drive the distillery’s growth forward, both in the UK, and internationally”.
The distillery, which recently collaborated with Oxford University to create a gin, offered whisky fans the chance to purchase casks filled with its rye spirit, which is distilled from English heritage grains.
