SGWS names Silvestre as senior VP of supply chain

US drinks distribution company Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS) has promoted Stephanie Silvestre to the role of senior vice president of supply chain.

Stephanie Silvestre will become SGWS’s new senior vice president of supply chain

Silvestre has held her current role as vice president of supply chain planning and logistics since July 2016, where she manages all aspects of product acquisition, inventory, logistics, forecasting and analytics. Silvestre will step into her new role on 1 January 2020.

“As the leader in the industry, Southern Glazer’s continues to refine and enhance our supply chain capability for the future,” said Bobby Burg, senior vice president, chief supply chain officer.

“Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the function, enabling us to continue to implement best practices and strategically leverage our logistics expertise to deliver added value for customers and suppliers.”

Prior to joining SGWS, Silvestre worked for General Electric for five years, where she participated in its Senior Leadership Programme.

Lee Hager, executive vice president, secretary and administration, added: “Stephanie’s ability to foster collaborative teams and drive innovation is one of the reasons we’ve been able to maintain our reputation for supply chain excellence.

“Throughout her almost nine-year tenure with Southern Glazer’s, Stephanie has played an integral role as a supply chain management resource, leading the ideation and execution of both the Southern Supply Center (SSC) and the Southern Glazer’s Consolidation Center (SGCC), as well as more recently, spearheading the company’s S&OP [sales and operations planning] process design and implementation along with our commercial partners.”

Andrew Vermilion in replenishment, logistics and analytics and Tracey Friend in sales and operations planning will continue to report to Silvestre in her new position.
