Santa Teresa unveils cacao-infused bitters for cocktails
Venezuelan rum brand Santa Teresa has partnered with German producer The Bitter Truth to create a cacao-infused cocktail bitters.
Santa Teresa and The Bitter Truth have created a cacao-infused cocktail bitters
The Bitter Truth Santa Teresa 1796 Cacao Bitters were designed to highlight the “subtle aromatic notes of walnuts, coffee and cacao” in the Venezuelan rum.
Geoff Robinson, global advocacy manager and UK brand ambassador, said: “At Santa Teresa, we believe in simple things. From using the best possible ingredients to patiently crafting our rum with the highest degree of care and expertise, without any shortcuts.
“That’s why we partnered with The Bitter Truth to produce our very own cacao bitters, designed specifically to be used in Santa Teresa 1796 cocktails – because they make bitters the old fashioned way, with a long maceration to ensure they get maximum flavour.”
Santa Teresa has created a signature serve to showcase the new bitters. The Aragua Old Fashioned was named in honour of the Aragua Valley, which is home to the Hacienda Santa Teresa and is known for its cacao production.
The cocktail combines Santa Teresa 1796, demerara sugar syrup and The Bitter Truth Santa Teresa 1796 Cacao Bitters, garnished with a twist of orange zest.
The Bitter Truth Santa Teresa 1796 Cacao Bitters will be available exclusively to the UK on-trade from December.
