Kyoto Distillery to open House of Ki No Bi
Japan’s Kyoto Distillery will open its first brand home next year, called The House of Ki No Bi.
The House of Ki No Bi will open in spring 2020
Due to open in spring 2020, The House of Ki No Bi will be located in the centre of the historical city of Kyoto. It will be housed in a converted traditional ‘machiya’ townhouse, which was built more than 100 years ago as a timber mill.
The site will offer a blending room, seminars for gin fans and a shop with exclusive bottlings.
“Our ambition is to bring alive the Ki No Bi brand and the spirit of Kyoto to the 50+ million annual visitors to the city we are proud to call our home,” said David Croll, co-founder of The Kyoto Distillery.
The Kyoto Distillery is thought to be Japan’s first dedicated gin distillery. In September this year, Kyoto Distillery launched Ki No Jyu, the first expression in a new ultra-premium gin range inspired by local craftsmanship and culture.
