Heads + Tails marks first anniversary with new menu

London cocktail bar Heads + Tails is celebrating its first anniversary with the launch of a new cocktail menu.

The Cranmore is a “bold” short serve with minimal garnish

The West Hampstead venue is divided into two spaces, split over different levels: Heads, a bright bar serving light cocktails, and Tails, a dark basement bar specialising in whiskies and rums.

For its latest menu, the venue has drawn inspiration from autumnal and wintry flavours, such as apple, spices and chestnuts.

Drinks on the bar’s new menu include Sex, Lies and Videograpes

Drinks on the bar’s new menu include Sex, Lies and Videograpes, a brandy-based serve with a “mature blend of flavours” made using 30 & 40 Double Jus, Maraschino, malic acid, verjus and Prosecco.

Imbibers can also sample the Light Violet, which combines Beefeater Gin, Dolin Dry Vermouth, apricot liqueur and violet liqueur, and the Adrien Pimento, made with Altos Plata Tequila, Pimento Dram, pineapple shrub and lemon.

Finally, the Cranmore is said to be a “short serve with minimal garnish” and is made with Gelston’s Irish Whiskey, Campari, house-made winter bitters and caramelised macerated chestnuts.

Heads + Tails was opened in 2018 by London-based bartenders Will Partridge, of Kilburn Ironworks, and Chris Dennis, of Sovereign Loss.

Shortly after the bar opened, SB spoke with its designers and builders about the steps that it takes to transform an idea into a bustling bar business.
