Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin launches in UK
By Nicola CarruthersScotland’s North Uist Distillery has launched a seasonal Downpour Gin expression, infused with sloe berries and brambles.
Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin is bottled at 25% ABV
The new expression, called Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin, has been aged in Bourbon casks.
The spirit is distilled and bottled on Scottish Hebridean island North Uist, where the distillery is currently located in a temporary space. The site has plans to expand in 2020.
The 25% ABV gin is recommended served over ice or with a premium tonic and garnished with heather, raspberries and brambles. It can also be used to make a mulled gin cocktail or added to a glass of bubbly.
Master distiller Jonny Ingledew said: “We are so grateful to our customers for the huge success of Downpour. It continues to sell really well. We can’t wait for our customers to enjoy the Downpour Christmas special.”
Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin is priced at £29 (US$37) per 500ml and is available for pre-order from North Uist Distillery’s website. It will be delivered for free in the UK from the start of December.
North Uist Distillery launched its inaugural spirit, Downpour Gin, in April 2019. The site was founded by local couple Ingledew and Kate MacDonald with the aim of setting up the first legal distillery on the Scottish island.
