Cocktail shot brand Liqs enters Japan

Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail shot brand Liqs has hit a “major milestone” by expanding its availability to include Japan.

Liqs is now available in Japan

Launched in 2014, the brand sold one million shots in its first four years – and has since doubled its volume sales to two million shots.

Liqs is made from spirits, fruit juice and ‘natural’ flavours. It is bottled at 20% ABV, and claims to be low in both sugar and calories.

The brand is now available throughout Japan in nightclubs, retailers and on Amazon.

Harley Bauer, co-founder of Liqs, said: “Back when we launched in 2013, RTDs were not a well respected category and there was tremendous push-back. But after educating both retailers and consumers on the quality and multiple usage occasions, we’ve experienced tremendous consumer and retailer growth and acceptance.

“The RTD category here in the US has exploded over the last 18 months, and the international markets are taking notice, especially Japan, which has the second highest amount of RTD sales behind the US.”

In June this year, Liqs entered five new US states: Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
