The website is described as a “new digital showcase for the whole Cognac industry”

The website – www.cognac.fr – highlights Cognac’s “origin, authenticity and diversity”, as well as the people behind the spirit.

Digital agency Label Agence designed the platform, which launched in French and English on 25 October.

“The website was designed to give Cognac a twist,” a spokesperson for the agency said. “We wanted to reveal its true modernity, its spirit of conquest and its dynamism by respecting a centuries-old history and its roots in an authentic terroir and landscapes.”

Targeting trade professionals, the site is divided into four sections: Discover, which explores the history, landscape and production of Cognac; Visit, which delves into the tourism options in the area; Tasting, which allows visitors to learn about the different ways of enjoying Cognac; and Commitments, which looks at how the industry is protecting its environment.

The website also links to digital magazine Culture Cognac, which includes people-focused features and latest news.

Its launch comes at a time when Cognac exports continue to grow. Between August 2018 and July 2019, shipments of the spirit reached 211.1 million bottles, the equivalent of €3.4 billion (US$3.7bn).
