Women of the Vine & Spirits creates executive committee

US-based Women of the Vine & Spirits has formed a senior executive committee to advance its efforts to create greater gender diversity across the alcoholic beverage industry.

The committee will work to provide leading industry professionals and qualified corporate member employees the chance to shape Women of the Vine & Spirits programmes and initiatives that benefit all members.

The executive committee includes, but is not limited to: Maureen Brekka, senior vice president global strategy director, portfolio and brands, Brown-Forman; Mel Dick, president, wine division and senior vice president, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits; Alison Gavin, vice president, total talent, diversity and enterprise development, Pernod Ricard USA; Vanessa Kay, executive vice president, brands and chief marketing officer, Moët Hennessy USA; Maggie Lapcewich, executive vice president, corporate strategy and communications, Breakthru Beverage Group; Lorraine Luke, corporate vice president, human resources, Republic National Distributing Company; Steve Slater, executive vice president, general manager, wine division, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits; and Barkley J Stuart, executive vice president, director, government affairs, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

The industry group has also created additional committees, such as the diversity and inclusion committee, foundation committee, global membership engagement committee, global symposium content committee, and membership committee.

Deborah Brenner, founder and CEO, Women of the Vine & Spirits, said: “The senior executive committee was formed as a means to collaborate as a community with understanding and strategic thinking, to elevate the commitment we make to our membership and industry.
