Ultra-premium brand Villa One, first unveiled last month, has been created as part of a partnership between pop star Jonas, fashion designer John Varvatos and Jalisco Tequila distillery Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, which is owned by Amber Beverage Group.

The Luxembourg-headquartered group also owns a controlling stake in Cellar Trends, which will distribute Villa One in the UK from “mid/end” 2020. The brand’s portfolio of silver, reposado and añejo Tequilas first launched in the US this month.

Villa One is made using 100% Blue Weber agave that is five to seven years old and is sourced from the Highlands and Lowlands of Jalisco. Master distiller Arturo Fuentes oversees production of the brand.

Villa One comes in three expressions: silver, reposado and añejo

The bottles were designed by Jonas and Varvatos and feature jewellery-inspired metalwork around the necks. The UK RRP of Villa One is to be confirmed.

Jonas said: “John and I forged a great relationship while working together. When we brought our friends together over Tequila in Mexico, we learned that we share the same values – enjoying time with friends and family, old and new, one glass at a time.

“When it came to Villa One, it was critical to us that we take part in the decision-making process every step of the way and, now, we feel that this is exactly the Tequila we sought out to create almost two years ago.”

Geoff Watts, managing director of Cellar Trends, said: “We are very excited that Cellar Trends will be at the forefront of the leading growth category of agave spirits in the UK with Villa One. To have the brand as part of our growing portfolio of Tequila gives us a fantastic ultra-premium spirit to offer the on- and off-trade in the coming months.”

Amber Beverage Group, owned by the SPI Group, acquired a “strategic stake” in Cellar trends in 2017 and purchased the remaining stake of the UK distributor earlier this year.
