Reyka launches Adopt-a-Puffin scheme
By Owen BellwoodIcelandic vodka brand Reyka has partnered with the National Audubon Society to launch its Adopt-a-Puffin scheme, which supports the protection of puffins around the world.
Reyka is encouraging vodka fans to donate between US$1 and US$50 to support puffins around the world
The William Grant & Sons-owned brand is donating to the National Audubon Society’s Project Puffin to support the endangered species.
As part of the programme, vodka fans are able to donate to Project Puffin, and in return will receive gifts such as puffin pins, t-shirts and hats.
Trevor Schneider, brand ambassador for Reyka Vodka, said: “Since Reyka Vodka is made of Iceland, and puffins are an integral part of Icelandic culture, it’s important for us as a brand to help puffins in any way we can.”
“Our Adopt-a-Puffin initiative will further prevent extinction of these beautiful seabirds while allowing Reyka Vodka drinkers to make a difference and become puffin parents.”
The programme will run until Autumn 2019 and those interested in supporting the cause can visit Reyka.com to donate between US$1 and US$50.
Dr Stephen Kress, vice president for conservation at the National Audubon Society, said: “We are so grateful to have Reyka Vodka’s support in fighting to help puffins and saving our living ocean for everyone.”
