Sailor Jerry to take over three Scottish cities

William Grant & Sons-owned Sailor Jerry rum will offer free pizza and haircuts as part of its Scottish City Takeover series in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow this month.

Sailor Jerry will offer rum fans the chance to win free haircuts and complimentary pizza in its City Takeover

The spiced rum brand will host a month of events, gigs, pop-ups and competitions throughout March in the three Scottish cities to honour “bold local talent”.

Sailor Jerry have partnered with restaurants, barbers and tattoo shops to offer fans complimentary pizza, free haircuts, tattoos and other exclusive discounts.

EmmaLi Stenhouse, Sailor Jerry’s UK brand ambassador, said: “We’re so excited to take Sailor Jerry back on the road to Scotland; we feel so at home there. The City Takeovers are all about encouraging residents to get into their local pizza joints or tattoo shops and support homegrown talent.”

Throughout March ‘flash art’ inspired by the tattoo designs of Sailor Jerry’s namesake, Norman Collins, will also appear across the three cities. Rum fans are encouraged to visit these sites to be in with a chance of winning tickets to Sailor Jerry: The Castle Takeover, an exclusive party to be held at a secret castle venue later in the year.

As part of the takeovers, Sailor Jerry will launch SJ Presents, a mini-tour of Scotland’s best music venues; and will partner with Scottish music website Tenement TV to launch a new music competition.

Stenhouse said: “The SJ Presents gigs are going to be awesome – the headliners are some of the best bands in the UK right now. All of the people we have collaborated with for the City Takeovers live by their own rules – just like Norman Collins did.”
