Ben Milam Whiskey names Heather Greene CEO

US distillery Ben Milam Whiskey has promoted Whiskey Distilled author Heather Greene to the position of chief executive officer (CEO) and company partner.

Heather Greene has been appointed CEO of Ben Milam Whiskey

With Greene at the helm, Ben Milam Whiskey aims to expand its portfolio with the release of a new line of premium whiskeys this summer, called Milam and Greene.

Milam and Greene premium small batch straight Bourbon will include grain-to-glass whiskey made by head brewer Jordan Osborne and master distiller Marlene Holmes.

Greene and her team will also blend two-year-old Texas Straight Bourbon with 10-year-old and four-year-old Tennessee whiskeys. The liquid will then rest in Bourbon barrels for extra maturation.

The firm will also continue to handpick and bottle its Single Barrel and Barrel Proof Ben Milam whiskeys.

Marsha Milam, partner at Ben Milam, said: “Ben Milam Whiskey has really taken off these past two years. Now, whiskey expert Heather Greene will take [the] reigns as the CEO and blender to lead the further development of the distillery.

“She brings over a decade of whiskey marketing experience combined with specialised skills in batching, blending and monitoring of spirits as they age in a cask. This is essentially a dream team.”

Greene first joined Ben Milam Whiskey as a blending and marketing consultant in 2018.

As CEO, she will work closely with Milam, Holmes and Osborne to build the distillery’s portfolio and grow its market footprint.

“The team I am joining is not only exceptionally gifted, they hold a deep respect for the traditions of whiskey-making while remaining open to innovation and risk,” said Greene.

“Milam is a visionary who respects the beauty, depth and craftsmanship that goes into whiskey-making. All in all, it’s an exciting and creative place to work.”
