Lobby Bar celebrates ‘marriage between art and cocktails’
The Lobby Bar at London’s Ace Hotel has released the second instalment in its Notes From a Hotel Bar menu, which is said to toast “the marriage between art and cocktails”.
Curated by Ace Hotel London’s bar manager Chris Green, the Lobby Bar’s latest menu is titled A Compendium of Art and Spirits.
The menu has been separated into three sections, the first of which is dedicated to reinterpretations of classic cocktails. Drinks include A Magical Realist, made with Tapatio blanco, bergamot, honey, black peppercorns, rose and tarragon, and City Folk, which combines Bombay Sapphire, almond, lemon, raspberries and soda.
The second section of the menu, which contains serves “designed to give drinkers a rosy retrospective”, includes creations such as the Bourbon-bon-bon, made with Woodford Reserve, chocolate Bourbon, almond cream, soda and bon bon, and the colour-changing That Unicorn Drink, which includes Bombay Sapphire, butterfly pea flower, nettle, lemon and soda.
Finally, the third section of the menu contains a number of serves that are below 6% abv, such as the No Room / Much Room, made with Bacardi Carta Blanca, shiitake, kefir, lemon and soda.
In addition to the new cocktail list, The Lobby Bar will also feature a selection of artworks by the hotel’s artists in residence, who have been invited to spend a night at the hotel and create new works inspired by their stay.
