Rémy Cointreau sells distribution units to Jägermeister

Mast-Jägermeister has agreed to buy Rémy Cointreau’s distribution units in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Jägermeister’s parent company has agreed to buy two Eastern Europe distribution units from Rémy Cointreau

The deal is subject to clearance by the competent antitrust authority, and if approved will take effect on 1 April 2019.

Once completed, Jägermeister will distribute Rémy Cointreau’s portfolio in the regions, including Rémy Martin Cognac.

The distribution units employ almost 80 members of staff in total.

Denis Schrey, executive board member, said: “The acquisition of these national units, with their fast-growing sales, will considerably reinforce our position in Eastern Europe, which is currently the strongest growth region for our company.”

Rémy Cointreau reported steady sales growth for the first half of its fiscal year in October, boosted by Cognac.
