Kentucky-based Bardstown Bourbon Company has appointed Sazerac’s Herb Heneman as its new vice president of brand sales and marketing.
Herb Heneman is Bardstown Bourbon Company’s new vice president of sales and marketing
Heneman, who was most recently general manager, southeast division at US drinks group Sazerac Company, will manage Bardstown Bourbon Company’s brand portfolio.
He will be responsible for the development and execution of its sales, marketing, and distribution strategy; building its sales and marketing team; and helping to develop and position the company’s innovations.
The firm will introduce several new products under the Bardstown Bourbon brand in early 2019.
A 20-year veteran of alcoholic beverage sales, marketing, brand management and innovation, Heneman previously led the largest sales division at Sazerac.
He managed a team of state managers, sales representatives and a wholesale network for brands including Buffalo Trace and EH Taylor.
Before joining Sazerac, Heneman worked in marketing with Red Bull and spent at MillerCoors.
“Herb Heneman is not your average sales and marketing executive,” said David Mandell, president and CEO of Bardstown Bourbon Company.
“He not only has the expertise to build and manage a complex network of distribution and retail partners, but also the entrepreneurial spirt, drive, creativity, and experience to successfully grow a new whiskey portfolio.”
Heneman added: “I’m excited to join Bardstown Bourbon Company, which is truly revolutionising the Bourbon category.
“Bardstown Bourbon Company is creating some of the most exciting, authentic and innovative brands in the industry, and they come from a place with an incredible story to tell.”
Heneman will relocate to Kentucky with his family and will join the senior leadership team.
In September last year, John Hargrove, former master distiller at Sazerac’s Barton 1792 Distillery, joined Bardstown Bourbon Company as its executive director of operations.
