Family-owned spirits firm Borco will terminate its distribution partnership with Fernet-Branca owner Fratelli Branca as of 1 January 2019.

Borco will end its distribution partnership with Fernet-Branca owner Fratelli Branca

Borco has been the exclusive distributor of Fratelli Branca brands Fernet-Branca and Brancamenta in Germany and Austria, as well as vermouths Antica Formula and Punt e Mes in Germany.

Furthermore, distribution of Borco’s Sierra Tequila in Italy, which has been looked after by Fratelli Branca over the past few years, will be “reorganised”.

Borco said the Fernet-Branca, Brancamenta, Antica Formula and Punt e Mes brands “have been experiencing a true renaissance as part of a flourishing cocktail culture” and that “being emotionally charged in a new way, Fernet-Branca is well prepared to proceed, strengthened into the future”.

The company added in its statement: “Borco-Marken-Import will consistently pursue its strategy of premiumisation with strong international partners in the German and Austrian market, and to strengthen its own brands both nationally and internationally, including Sierra Tequila, Helbing Kümmel, Finsbury Gin and Paloma Lemonade.”
