Bolney Wine Estate unveils Rosso Vermouth

English wine producer Bolney Wine Estate has moved into the vermouth category with the launch of a rosso expression.

Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth is made with botanicals grown in the vineyard hedgerows in Sussex

Created by Sam Linter, managing director and head winemaker, and fellow winemaker Alex Rabagliati, Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth is an aromatised and fortified wine distilled with botanicals grown in Bolney’s own vineyard hedgerows in Sussex.

The expression is thought to be the first rosso vermouth from the English county of Sussex.

Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth is made with sloes and elderberries, as well as Bolney’s surplus grape juice, allowing the producer to ensure that nothing is wasted during the wine-making process.

It is described as having “floral herb, eucalyptus notes and the classic aroma of wormwood”.

The vermouth is recommended served with tonic, or in a classic Negroni.

Bolney’s Rosso Vermouth made its debut at the London Wine Fair on 21 May. The expression is available to buy online for an RRP of £19.99.
