Bar group searches for ‘professional cocktail taster’

London bar operator Darwin & Wallace has partnered with organic Swedish vodka brand Virtuous to find London’s ‘first professional cocktail taster’.

The ‘professional cocktail taster’ must take notes on the drinks flavour and appearance

Darwin & Wallace is offering one imbiber the chance to sample six serves across its venues in order to find out which bar makes the best Virtuous Vodka cocktails.

Imbibers are invited to apply for the role through Airtasker, with one successful applicant and a friend invited to sample Virtuous Vodka cocktails at bars including No 11 Pimlico Road, No 197 Chiswick Fire Station and the soon-to-be-opened 601 Queen’s Rd.

Mel Marriott, founder and managing director of Darwin & Wallace, said: “I want to know which of my bartenders is the best at mixing up the Berry Virtuous cocktail. As a familiar face amongst my teams in the bars, this is difficult to do so incognito.
“Therefore, I need someone to visit all six of my locations across South London and try out the new Berry Virtuous. The catch? None – you just have to do it without being noticed.”

The successful applicant will be required to make notes on each cocktail they taste, their experience in each bar and the presentation of every serve. In return, they will be paid £600 (US$812) and the cost of each cocktail they sample.
