Sazerac launches educational agave website
US spirits group Sazerac, maker of Corazón Tequila, has launched a website dedicated to agave education.
Sazerac’s new site is dedicated to educating consumers about agave
The new website – www.GreatAgave.com – includes information on the history of agave, its terroir and how it is used to make spirits such as Tequila and mezcal.
Sazerac has created the site to “support the category as a whole”.
The website contains five tabs: The Story, which offers a brief history of agave spirits; The Plant, outlining the anatomy of the plant and its varieties; The Producers, with information on production processes and the geographies in which agave is grown; The Spirits, outlining the five different types of spirits in the agave category; and The Experience, containing a brief glossary of terms.
Megan Hurtuk, marketing manager for Tequila, craft and specialty brands at Sazerac, said: “We are incredibly excited to launch GreatAgave.com and feel it’s a solid starting point to build stronger resources for those looking to dive in and learn more about these spectacular spirits.
“We’ve only just begun and look forward to engaging additional industry experts and the overall bar community to further share our love for agave and support the category as a whole.”
