Roots Spirits targets on-trade with sustainability initiative
Greek drinks producer Roots Spirits has launched Back to the Roots, a week-long project that champions sustainability and low-alcohol serves in bars around the world.
Roots Spirits is targeting bars around the world with its new Back to the Roots initiative
Following the Back to the Roots UK cocktail competition last year, Roots has organised the week-long event to take place on 14-20 May.
During the week, participating bars will be serving simple low-alcohol cocktails, based on the Back to the Roots philosophy: simplicity, sustainability, heritage and low-alcohol.
Back to the Roots Week is taking place in Athens, London, Milan, Rome and Paris next month.
The Back to the Roots initiative aims to increase awareness on reusability and sustainable consumption.
Each participating bar will receive a custom-made ‘sustainability’ kit. The kit will include special bamboo straws, a handmade ceramic mixing glass, reusable eco wooden cocktail stirrers, and poster menus with the serves of the week for each bar.
Participating bars include The Savoy’s American Bar in London, Rosso in Rome, The Bank Job in Athens, Rita & Cocktails in Milan, Yaya in Paris, and many more.
Registrations for bars are open and will be accepted until 1 May on www.backtotherootsproject.com.
