D’ussé Cognac debuts hashtag ordering service

Premium Cognac brand D’ussé has launched a hashtag ordering service in partnership with on-demand alcohol delivery service Saucey.

Cognac fans in the US can order bottles of D’ussé using the hashtag #Boost100

The new scheme, created in collaboration with American start-up Boost Inc, allows users to order a bottle of D’ussé VSOP Cognac by texting #Dusse100 to 81000 or by using the hashtag on Twitter and Instagram.

“This D’ussé partnership with Saucey and Boost Inc marks a major achievement in the alcohol space,” said Ned Duggan, vice president and brand managing director of D’ussé.

“Giving our consumers the ability to order the spirit with simple engagement on social media platforms puts the brand in front of our target audience and the product in their hands in a seamless manner.”

Cognac fans in the US can order a bottle of Cognac using the ‘innovative’ method from today (4 April) and first-time buyers will be directed to a one-time express checkout.

Chris Vaughn, CEO and co-founder of Saucey, said: “We’ve always been about finding new and interesting ways to reach customers and make the process as easy as possible, and this partnership is undoubtedly another step in the right direction.”

The hashtag ordering service will run throughout the summer.

Drinks vans have previously been able to quickly order their favourite spirits by tapping their smartphones against near-field communication enabled fridge magnets.
