Tito’s grows travel retail presence with Africa debut

Tito’s is continuing its travel retail expansion having secured shelf space in Africa duty free markets, including Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda and Zambia.

Tito’s vodka is now available in African travel retail markets

The corn-based vodka is now available in the following airport and seaport retail stores and locations: Maputo International Airport, Mozambique; Entebbe International Airport, Uganda; Kigali International Airport, Rwanda; Lusaka International Airport, Livingstone International Airport and Ndola International Airport, Zambia; Bujumbura Duty Free Store and Bujumbura International Airport, Burundi; and Tema Seaport and Takoradi Seaport, Ghana.

John McDonnell, Tito’s managing director international, said: “Africa is an important market as it grows economically and attracts tourists from around the world.

“We aim to be available in all key airports this year and, in terms of Africa’s emerging markets, expect the brand’s positive performance in similar markets elsewhere to be mirrored here.”

Furthermore, Flemingo International will distribute Tito’s to other airport retailers in markets such as Kenya, Ethiopia, DRC Congo and more.

Mukesh Khetle, Flemingo International category head, said: “There is a great opportunity for brands like Tito’s to establish themselves in emerging markets across Africa, as economies and consumer interest grow.”

Earlier this month, Tito’s revealed plans to “aggressively grow” its presence in the on- and off-trade after signing a distribution deal with BLN in Mexico.
