Punch Room creates historical cocktail menu

19th March, 2018 by Amy Hopkins

The Punch Room at The London Edition hotel has launched the second volume in its ‘The Five’ menu, said to “celebrate the illustrious history” of Punch cocktails.

The Punch Room is based inside The London Edition hotel in Fitzrovia

The Five: Volume II menu has been created by bar manager Andy Shannon, formerly of Calooh Callay, and head bartender Eric Van Oers, formerly of The Blind Pig.

While the first iteration of the menu highlighted the five main ingredients of Punch, the second volume celebrates five key moments in the history of the cocktail with five dedicated sections: Naval, Coffee House, Caribbean, North American, and Modern.

An additional section will give guests the opportunity to sample Punch classics.

The menu comes in the form of a book, with each chapter featuring illustrations from six artists: Alan Berry Rhys, Bene Rohlmann, Jake Foreman, Max Löffler, Otto Von Beach and Verónica Grech.

Each Punch on the menu costs £14 per person and can be served individually or in Punch Room’s exclusive range of vintage punch bowls.
