French distributor Dugas welcomes new majority shareholder

Independent private equity investment company Equistone has acquired a majority stake in French distribution firm the Dugas Company.

Equistone is now a majority shareholder of the Dugas Company alongside François-Xavier Dugas, company founder, and the Chevrillon Group.

The Dugas Company’s portfolio includes international rum brands such as Diplimatico, Angostura, Don Papa and Botran, as well as Scotch whiskies including Springbank, Bunnahabhain and Glengoyne.

Dugas said: “Working with all different distribution channels, Dugas is today proud of its unique business model to construct and develop international brands, or brands that show strong potential on the French market.

“Since 2016, this distribution model has expanded through solid export partnerships with distribution companies that share our philosophy.

“Furthermore, new consumption methods observed leads us to enter into a new dynamic that will integrate a digital dimension.”
