Beam Suntory and De Kuyper ink distribution deal

Beam Suntory has appointed Dutch spirits group De Kuyper as the distributor of its brands in the Netherlands.

De Kuyper CEO Mark de Witte said the move strengthens the brands offering in the premium spirits sector

As of 1 January 2018, De Kuyper will market Beam Suntory’s key brands, such as Jim Beam, Makers Mark and Sauza Tequila, in the Netherlands.

Manfred Jus, managing director – Western Europe for Beam Suntory said: “De Kuyper Royal Distillers is our partner of choice in the Netherlands. It is a very professional and dynamic family-owned company with a clear and compelling vision plus longstanding experience in beverages. The team is very passionate about our brands and capable of bringing them to the next level.”

He added: “We are looking forward to accelerating the future growth of our brands in the Netherlands together with De Kuyper.”

The Dutch distillers are hoping to ‘own the cocktail’ and this long-term distribution agreement with Beam Suntory could help them achieve this.

De Kuyper CEO Mark de Witte said: “We are excited to add this great set of strong international brands to our portfolio in the Netherlands and to contribute to their growth.”

He added: “We want to be the best premium liqueurs and premium spirits partner for trade partners and bartenders so that more consumers in the Netherlands can enjoy the best cocktails with spirits from De Kuyper.”

With these key brands from Beam Suntory in the Dutch market, De Kuyper “further enhances its position as a leading premium liqueur spirits company”.

The news follows the company’s acquisition of Cherry Heering liqueur and the launch of a premium Cuban coffee liqueur Bébo.
