Caorunn kicks off kilt activation at Glasgow Airport

Independent Scottish gin brand Caorunn has partnered with designer kiltmaker Siobhan MacKenzie to launch a tartan-themed display and sampling activation at Dufry’s World Duty Free shop in Glasgow Airport.

Passengers travelling through Glasgow Airport throughout September have the opportunity to enjoy the Caorunn ‘bothy bar’, decked out in the brand’s new tartan.

Formally recognised by the Scottish Register of Tartans; the design has been created in collaboration with MacKenzie, who has designed a contemporary kilt that will be on display in the airport.

To mark the activation, the brand is giving away 500 mini-kilts designed to fit the litre-sized Caorunn bottle.

Travellers also have the opportunity to sample three cocktails: the Caorunn Apple Twist, which contains pressed apple juice and Fentiman’s tonic water; the Ginito, made with gomme and lemon juice and garnished with lime and mint; and the Perfect Serve, which comprises tonic water and thin slices of red apple.

James Bateman, global travel retail director for International Beverage, said: “Glasgow airport is one of Scotland’s gateways to the world and its staff are the ambassadors for the very best of Scottish produce.

“Caorunn is the airport’s best-selling super premium gin in 2016 and 2017 to date. We really hope that Glasgow’s passengers, Glaswegians and visitors alike, really enjoy the promotion and get to collect the mini-kilt.”

Last year Caorunn was the best-selling super premium gin in all major Scottish airports, and the third best-selling super premium gin brand in British travel outlets.
