Hennessy unveils X.X.O in Changi Airport

Cognac house Hennessy has partnered with travel retailer DFS Group to showcase an updated recipe for its Hennessy X.X.O expression at a pop-up in Singapore’s Changi Airport.

Hennessy X.X.O will be showcased at Changi Airport from 1 August to 11 September

Originally created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy and Emile Fillioux, Hennessy X.X.O was blended according to the philosophy of setting aside eaux-de-vie with the “greatest potential for the future”.

At the time, Hennessy X.X.O was packaged in the traditional charentaise bottle.

Today, the expression has been re-interpreted by Hennessy’s seventh generation master blender Yann Fillioux with the same method as his predecessors.

It is described as having a “rich, expressive nose” and a long finish characteristic of rare Cognacs with a “spicy complexity”. It also has notes of bitter orange and freshly grated nutmeg, liquorice stick, dried peppermint leaf and delicate spices.

“In Global Travel Retail we are always aiming at surprising consumers with remarkable experiences and authentic expressions,” said Donatienne de Fontaines-Guillaume, managing director, Global Travel Retail Moët Hennessy. ”

Hennessy X.X.O is introduced first in the world at DFS, Singapore Changi Airport. Travellers are invited to discover our immersive and contemporary pop-up store and enjoy the experience of the art of hosting.”

The pop-up will run from 1 August to 11 September in the airport’s Terminal 1.

Beginning in September, Hennessy X.X.O will also be available at DFS, Hong Kong International Airport and will extend to other duty free locations in October.
