Bunnahabhain unveils travel retail exclusive single malt

Islay distillery Bunnahabhain has unveiled exclusive packaging for its travel retail range, at the same time as releasing a new Scotch whisky in duty free.

Bunnahabhain An Cladach is the latest addition to the Islay distillery’s travel retail range

The new design has been launched by brand owner Distell to increase Bunnahbhain’s shelf stand-out and “individuality”.

The new single malt Scotch whisky – called Bunnahabhain An Cladach, meaning ‘The Shore’ in Scots Gaelic – is described as a “complex malt with a rich Sherry influence”.

The new expression is available in a 1L format,  presented in a gift tube adorned with an illustration conveying the story of a fishing boat navigating the rough seas on its way to Bunnahabhain Bay. It is bottled at a cask strength of 50% abv.

Distell has also launched a “sleek and sophisticated” new label for its South African whisky brand Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky, as well as a one-litre version of the bottling.

“The whisky recently launched in the UK, Germany, France and Sweden after a successful international debut in 2015 and 2016 across the USA,” said Distell.

“The label now features enriched visual cues that enhance the unique story of South Africa’s only single grain whisky.”

The signature of brand founder Andrew Watts has also been added to the label.

Both Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky’s new label, and Bunnahabhain’s new GTR design and exclusive new expression will be showcased at the TFWA show in Cannes in October this year.
