Tales of the Cocktail reveals 2017 Spirited Awards longlist

Tales of the Cocktail has whittled down more than 1,000 nominations to name the top 10 longlisted entries in each of its Spirited Awards categories.

Following a rigorous evaluation of the nominees, a committee of judges selected 10 top nominees for each of the 24 categories in the 2017 Spirited Awards, which have been divided into American, International, Writing, and Global sections.

“Every year the nomination and judging process shows just how rich and talented our industry is and continues to be,” said Charlotte Voisey, chairperson of the Spirited Awards.

“With literally thousands of nominations received, huge congratulations go out to all of the bars, people, products, and publications represented in the Top 10 lists.”

A total of 24 awards will be handed out to the industry’s best bars, bartenders, writers, distillers, and more.

At 2pm CST on Friday 16 June, Tales of the Cocktail will announce the top four nominees in each category during a Facebook Live event. Each of the finalists will be invited to attend the 2017 Spirited Awards ceremony in New Orleans during Tales of the Cocktail, where the winners will receive a Riedel Crystal trophy.

This year, the Spirited Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 22 July at the Sheraton Hotel as part of the 15th annual Tales of the Cocktail event.
