New Eco-Pouch marks ‘revolution in sustainable spirits packaging’

Identity Drinks Brands has increased its efforts in sustainable spirits packaging with the creation of the Eco-Pouch, which can be used to refill its Boxer Gin and Element 29 Vodka brands.

Boxer Gin’s Eco-Pouch can be used to refill four 70cl bottles

The Eco-Pouch, which is patent pending, marks a “revolution in sustainable spirits packaging”, according to UK-based distributor Identity Drinks Brands.

Replacing the current ‘bag-in-box’ packaging, the Eco-Pouch will be used to refill Boxer and Element 29 70cl bottles – meaning they can be “bottles for life. Each pouch is 2.8 litres – enough to refill four bottles.

“The Eco-Pouch is an absolute no brainer and coupled with the ever increasing popularity in gin, we expect to see sales of Boxer gin fly,” said Jaye Iwanowski, of Identity Drinks Brands. “Boxer and Element 29 offer venues an exceptional quality liquid, but for pouring prices when using the Eco-Pouch refill.”

The Eco-Pouch is said to reduce transport weight by 95%, reduce transported volume by 63%, is three times more effective than recycling old glass bottles, and provides significant cost savings to the manufacturer.

The Eco-Pouch for Boxer Gin will replace the bag-in-box format from this month, and will be available from all leading wholesalers. The Eco-Pouch for Element 29 will launch later this summer.

Both brands are created by sustainable British spirits maker Greenbox Drinks.

Identity Drinks Brands launched in the UK in 2015 to focus “on high quality spirits that are looking for rapid growth in the UK”.
