Four Pillars unveils gin-infused chocolate
Australian distillery Four Pillars has collaborated with British chocolatier Paul A Young to launch a gin-spiked chocolate ahead of World Gin Day on 10 June.
The chocolate is created using Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin
The confectionary is created using Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin, cucumber, pink grapefruit zest, coriander seed oil and dark chocolate.
The flavours were chosen to complement the botanicals used in the gin, which include Tasmanian pepperberry, lemon myrtle, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander seeds, star anise and more.
Stuart Gregor, co-founder of Four Pillars, said: “When creating Four Pillars Gin in 2013, our idea was to develop a range of gins that people could drink and enjoy. Who knew that the gins would be as good in chocolates as they are in a tall glass with ice, tonic and an orange slice!
“We love that like us, Paul has an experimental, creative mind and doesn’t accept the norm. That’s how you create something unique and memorable which is why this is such a great collaboration.”
The Four Pillars Gin Chocolate is part of Paul A Young’s Summer Collection, available in all three of his outlets. A limited number of samples will be available to taste at London gin event Juniapoolza, taking place on 10 and 11 June.
“Working with Four Pillars Gin as an ingredient has been hugely inspiring,” said Young. “Creating this chocolate has been challenging, exciting and ultimately hugely satisfying. We’re very proud to have it as part of our Summer Collection.”
