Bar Convent Berlin hails French focus for 2017

Trade show Bar Convent Berlin is to champion France as this year’s Country of Honour, as it expands for its 11th year over additional halls.

Boasting the slogan, ‘Made in France – Made with Love’, the French pavilion’s exhibitors will showcase the country’s spirits and sparkling wines, posting updates on social networks using the hashtag #BonjourBCB.

“The BCB represents a unique opportunity for ‘French Spirits’ to feel the pulse of the bar scene”, said Denis Abraham from Business France, the French agency for foreign trade and export promotion, a sponsor of the French pavilion. “Our presentation will mix an authentic and creative French touch into the international atmosphere.”

For the first time, the BCB will take up all of Station Berlin’s ten halls, covering a total floor space of 18,000 square metres – approximately 2,000 more than in 2016.

In total, 75% of the exhibition space has already been booked, featuring BCB newcomers alongside well-know brands such as Campari, Moët Hennessy, Bodegas Williams & Humbert, Breil Pur, Hayman’s Gin, Death’s Door Spirits, Tequila Fortaleza, Giulio Cocchi Spumanti srl and Douglas Laing & Co.

“The BCB long ago emerged as the industry’s most important premium event in Europe and beyond”, said BCB director Petra Lassahn.

“More and more manufacturers from around the world visit us in Berlin to launch their new products here.”

Coffee will be featured even more prominently in 2017 through The Coffee Convent Berlin – a separate in-house trade show at the BCB dedicated to the beverage, which is already enhancing the line-up at many bars.

Hosted in cooperation with coffee expert Cory Andreen, a dedicated stage will be the site of a supporting programme covering this topic.
