Freya hits catwalk with fashion designer
Freya, the “world’s first” spirit distilled from birch tree sap, has enlisted fashion designer Billie Jacobina to create a printed textile piece using the brand’s tree motif.
The design will be unveiled as part of Jacobina’s Autumn/Winter ’17 collection
The designer, who was named as one of fashion showcase event Fashion Scout’s ‘Ones To Watch’ in 2016, created the Freya-inspired piece using traditional textile printing techniques and specially-selected fabric.
The design will be unveiled as part of Jacobina’s Autumn/Winter ’17 collection on 17 February in a catwalk presentation at the Fashion Scout showcase during London Fashion Week.
Created by drinks group Pure Wild Spirits, Freya is named after the Norse goddess of ‘love, beauty, fertility and sensuality’.
The liquid is created using “only sustainable methods”, distilling birch sap that is harvested once a year, in the spring, from birch forests in Northern Europe.
Jacobina’s collection will be unveiled between from 12pm and 2pm in a presentation at the Freemason’s Hall, London, accompanied by Freya cocktails.
Freya secured third place in our round-up of the top 50 innovative spirits launches of 2016.
