By Nicola CarruthersNew York-based Will Ferrell-inspired bar Stay Classy is set to unveil its second venue in LA in the form of a pop-up.
Stay Classy is named after the catchphrase of Ferrell’s character Ron Burgundy in AnchormanOpening on 5 December, Stay Classy – named after the catchphrase of Ferrell’s character Ron Burgundy in Anchorman – will pop-up inside the TCL Chinese Theatre for 10 days.
Decorated with paraphernalia from Ferrell’s films including Anchorman, Elf and Stepbrothers, the bar also boasts a drinks menu with cocktails including the Mugatu Mule, Milk Was a Bad Choice, and the Smelly Pirate Hooker.
Stay Classy will also be selling merchandise and hosting Elf and Anchorman- themed parties in an effort to raise money for the actor’s charity, Cancer For College, which grants scholarships to students with cancer.
The original New York bar opened in New York’s Lower East Side last year. While the pop-up will run for a 10-day period, there could be plans to expand to a permanent site.
Continuing the trend for film-themed bars, a venue inspired by the 2000 film Coyote Ugly opened in Cardiff in October this year.
