Brown-Forman GTR names customer marketing head

Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail has announced Colton Payne as its new customer marketing manager, working across the TR brand portfolio.

Payne takes over from Jeannine Wise, who recently joined the Brown-Forman Herradura and el Jimador Tequila team.

In his new role, Payne holds the responsibility for implementing the strategic vision of the GTR business.

“Colton’s background and expertise will prove to be a great asset in his interaction with key travel retail customers as well as his responsibilities in the management of the Brown-Forman GTR trade marketing group,” said Eric Helms, marketing director for Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail.

“We look forward to his contributions in maintaining the progress and success enjoyed by Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail over the past two decades.”

Payne joined Brown-Forman in 2012 as global digital manager for Modern Liqueurs. He then joined the wines team in 2014 as associate brand manager across the North Americas region.

In the new role, effective 16 December, Payne will report to Helms and will continue to reside in Louisville, Kentucky.

Brown-Forman reported a net sales decline of 4% in its recent first-half results, blaming the sale of Southern Comfort and adverse currency effects for the loss.
