Marie Brizard is to launch a yuzu liqueur
Set for global launch in December 2017, the 20% abv liqueur is produced from an infusion of the fruit’s juice and essential oils.
Price is yet to be confirmed, and it is expected the product will be available to global customers from launch next month.
Marie Gentil Lethier, Marie Brizard quality and R&D director, said the described the product as “very high-end”.
“It came from the R&D department,” she said, confirming the yuzu liqueur was not developed alongside bartenders despite the interest shown in Japanese products.
“We really wanted a product that offered a lot of flavour in just one drink.”
The product launch was announced at a Marie Brizard workshop exploring citrus fruits, a bartender education initiative part of the Marie Brizard Masters cocktail competition taking place in Bordeaux today (22 November).
