Final call for Trois Rivières cocktail comp entries
With just one week left to enter, agricole rhum brand Trois Rivières is calling for final entries in its second Rhumbellion cocktail competition.
Bartenders have until 6 December to enter an original Trois Rivières cocktail recipe
Bartenders from around the world have until 6 December to enter an original Trois Rivières cocktail recipe that evokes “chic, hedonism, novelty and know-how”.
Inspired by the origin of the word ‘rum’ in contradiction form of the words ‘rumbullion’ or ‘rumbustion’ to mean uproar, or rebellion, the brand is calling on bartenders to “revolutionise the use of rhum agricole behind a bar” through the contest.
Eighteen semi-finalists will be selected to compete in Paris, pairing cocktails with gastronomic dishes created by a noted chef.
The six chosen finalists will be flown to Martinique, Trois Rivieres’s homeland, to compete for a Grand Millesime Baccarat crystal carafe, among other prizes.
After the inaugural competition in 2015, which attracted more than 200 entrants, bartender Nicola Battafarano was crowned champion.
