Cointreau collabs for reforestation project
French liqueur Cointreau has joined forces with department store Liberty London to launch social project #1Orange1Tree with an exclusive limited edition gift box.
‘Your Parisian Zest Coffret’ will be exclusively available at Liberty London from mid-November
As part of new project #1Orange1Tree, which aims to restore help local biodiversity and create a social impact in Senegal, Cointreau and Liberty have designed limited edition gift box ‘Your Parisian Zest Coffret’.
Each coffret is presented in an engraved wooden gift box, and features a unique pattern designed by Liberty exclusively for Cointreau. Inside it holds a bottle of the liqueur and a jigger to enable the user to craft a Cointreau Fizz cocktail, along with an orange flower scented candle and a personal cocktail notebook.
One of the 50 coffrets available in the UK will also contain a ticket to Senegal, empowering the winner to personally assist with the reforestation project in the region.
To celebrate the launch of the initiative, Liberty will debut an interactive window at their iconic London store from 14 November, where passers-by can take part in #1Orange1Tree project live.
In addition, Cointreau is inviting everyone across the globe to participate in #1Orange1Tree project by sharing a photo or a video of themselves with an orange on social media using hashtag, and nominating peers to do the same.
For every image posted on Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag, Cointreau will commit to planting one tree in Senegal, on their behalf.
Cointreau Creative Crew’s curator, Laetitia Casta, said: “Planting trees is a cause we champion at Cointreau. It’s about more than just putting a tree in the ground: trees help whole communities flourish. More than a simple environmental initiative, this is a societal one. I love when things have meaning and direction.
“At Cointreau, we listen to our heart, act on our passions and ensure that every decision we make improves the world around us. The “Your Parisian Zest Coffret” and #1Orange1Tree initiative is a heartfelt action, that I hope enable us to plant many trees.”
‘Your Parisian Zest Coffret’ will be exclusively available at Liberty London from mid-November. Only 50 will be available in the UK, with a further 200 worldwide, priced at £250. All proceeds from the sales of the coffrets will be contributed towards #1Orange1Tree project.
In October 2015, Liberty of London listed Cointreau as its first ever spirit brand.
